Albert Flynn DeSilver
 is a writer, speaker, workshop leader, and master mindfulness meditation teacher. His latest book is Writing as a Path to Awakening: A Year to Becoming an Excellent Writer and Living an Awakened Life, (Sounds True, 2017) based on his popular meditation and writing retreats by the same name. BUSTLE magazine called Writing as a Path to Awakening “A Must Read!” Poets & Writers named it one of their “Best Books of 2018.”

Albert is also an internationally published poet and served as Marin County California’s very first Poet Laureate from 2008-2010. Albert teaches nationally at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, the Esalen Institute, the Omega Institute, 1440 Multiversity, Shambhala Mountain, and at writing conferences nationally. He has read and shared the stage with International bestselling authors Cheryl Strayed, Elizabeth Gilbert, Maxine Hong Kingston, U. S. Poet Laureate Kay Ryan, and many others. He is also the author of several books of poems and the memoir Beamish Boy, (2012) which Kirkus Reviews called “a beautifully written memoir, poignant and inspirational.” He lives in Northern California.
