Saturday, 4:30:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Location: Ram Room
Crossfit

CrossFit is a universally scalable strength and conditioning program based on constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity.  CrossFit can be fine tuned to accommodate a wide variety of participants from novice to advanced across all age groups.  There is a different workout to perform EVERY DAY.  Routine is the enemy!  "Functional Movements" may include multiple variations of Gymnastic Exercises, Bodyweight Calisthenics, Plyometrics, Olympic Weightlifting, and Metabolic (Cardiovascular) Conditioning. We concentrate on complex, full-body movements that are athletic in nature.  Most of the CrossFit exercises/movements require a consistent, coordinated, powerful execution of force.  The overall program is simplistic in design and optimizes physical competence in each one of ten recognized fitness domains: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance and Accuracy.  In this class participants will gain more insight to the CrossFit method of training, and experience a Workout of the Day scaled to his/her ability level.  Be dressed for functional movements and bring some water!

Kyl was born and raised in Sun Valley.  After graduating from Wood River High School, he moved to California and studied exercise science, attaining a degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  Kyl has been working as a trainer at Zenergy Health Club for the last 5 years and was voted #1 Athletic Trainer in Sun Valley Guide’s 2009 ”Best of the Valley.”  In February 2010 he and Alex Margolin partnered to open 5B CrossFit in Hailey, an officially licensed CrossFit affiliate.

Jaime Scates Schmitz

Sunday, 8:00:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Location: Ram Room
Dynamic Flow - Power Vinyasa Yoga

This is an incredibly athletic practice ideal for building strength, grace, stamina and agility. In Vinyasa Yoga each movement is linked with the breath, we flow through the asanas linking each sequence with a sun salutation. This keeps the body warm and engaged throughout the practice. This beautiful, dynamic flow maintains a playful and dance like quality.  This class is appropriate for practitioners of all levels but some familiarity with Yoga and/or a reasonable level of physical fitness are reccommended for an enjoyable experience as we move quickly and sweat a lot!

As a glacier climber and avid skier, Jaime comes to Yoga from a long and diverse athletic back ground. When she committed to a daily Yoga practice, the physical and mental shifts created a sense of peace and balance in her mind and body-comperable to being out in the mountains. After years cultivating a daily practice, she completed her teacher trainings in both Baptiste and Ashtanga Yoga.  She has also studied with master teachers Shiva Rea, Bryan Kest and Ana Forrest. More recently, Jaime has been inspired by the fluid and dynamic flow of Internationally recognized teacher, Sarah Tompson Beyer. With her training in Ashtanga Yoga, Jaime teaches from a place of connection to the historical roots of vinyasa Yoga, however she loves the liberation, athleticism and challenge inherent in a dynamic flow. Gaining national attention for her powerful and dynamic teaching style, Jaime will be leading workshops around the West & Southwest this Spring. Jaime is incredibly honored to be a Lululemon Ambassador.

Sunday, 9:30:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Location: Ram Room
Zumba

Zumba class feels like an hour of living in the moment, and it is. In time, though, it becomes more than just an hour-long activity, it becomes a lifelong endeavor. The Zumba program is about expressing ourselves exactly as we are and loving every moment of what we do. Sure, there are steps to follow, shifts in rhythm, the warming up and the cooling down. But it teaches us and our students how to let go and enjoy. We let go in Zumba class and learn to let go in life. These are the moments when we feel most alive; and for these moments, we feel gratitude.

Lory brought Zumba to the valley in November 2007 and has been teaching at different venues here in the Wood River Valley ever since. She has made this area her home for the past 37 years and has worked at many jobs,...but dancing has become her passion and joy. She teaches at High Altitude Fitness, Zenergy, and at the Sun Valley Ballet School in Hailey. Zumba is a class for everyone! Please come and give it a try,...you will have the time of your life!!
